Thursday, I was in Great America Ballpark in Cincinnati to see the Reds and the Astro play baseball. In my 50 years of going to baseball games it was the worst game I have ever seen. Drop balls, players out there with no energy. One player came up with bases loaded and never took the bat off his shoulder, struck out looking, never swung at a pitch and wanted to argue with the ump about it. People started leaving in the 4th inning. The guy beside me says this is when I turn it off at home, their just bad. The kid beside my wife apologized to us because we traveled 3 hours to see the game and it was bad. We finally left in the 6st inning.
How can a team charge the public and put on such a poor display. We paid $65 (it was ladies night, so my wife ticket was 1/2 price) and would have had more fun watching my grandsons high school team. The Reds traded Josh Hamilton, leading the majors in RBI and an All Star and Ken Griffey Jr., on the down side of his career but still with 600 homers, and now have an outfield with a rookie who tried to make a basket catch and dropped the ball, and a center fielder hitting .190.
Has anybody experienced such poor play as I did at a baseball game.
