  1. No, but I have known a magpie attack its reflection in a bedroom window.

    Light which is reflected from a surface is polarized.  This is why polaroid lenses work for fishermen and drivers who want to avoid sun-dazzle.   A ducks feathers are oily, and that is why they are 'irridescent'.    Light bouncing from these is already polarised in one direction, and when it then reflects from another surface such as a stream, it is polarized again.  If the two planes of polarity are in opposition, the duck will have no reflection.

  4. yeah in Mexico we had a duck.So he was walking just fine over a puddle of water and looked down suddenly QUACK! he flew of to the top of the house.Well he had mud smears all over and the mud made it look like he was beat up.

  9. No.  A duck's quack has no echo (this is for scientific reasons) and for the same reasons its visual reflection cannot be seen either.  It does have a reflection, just not a visible one.

    Apple pie - you are correct!  The echo is within the hearing range of a dog though.  That is why hunters always take a retreiver with them when hunting duck.
