Visited the North Rim 4 years ago. Absolutely the most amazing natural sight I have ever seen. No photos or descriptions can do it justice, so I won't even try.

The Grand Canyon is beautiful. My brother works there quite often & he never gets tired of the view.  Are you going to the Grand Canyon for sure. I'll tell you one place to go that about the only people that know about it is Mackinaw Island in Lake Huron off upper Michigan. You have to go by ferry & there are no cars allowed. You travel around the Island on a bike or walking. They have the Grand Hotel but the only way you can go inside is if you pay to go in or stay there. I stayed in it yrs. ago when the room prices were only $165 a night. Needless to say I didn't pay that much!! In the winter when the river freezes the put evergreens from the mainland to the Island so they can get back & forth on snowmobiles when they need something. It is a really nice place to walk around & explore. Also the Upper Peninsula has many beautiful water falls if you like that kind of thing. Just some other places you might like that don't cost alot.   MAW

It is an awesome sight in the real meaning of the word. It is hard to understand what you're seeing at first because it is so huge. You can get a better idea by taking either the mule ride or walking tour to the bottom - either one is an all day trip.

It's something no one should miss seeing at least once (I've been twice, and planning to go back to go rafting). Sunsets are gorgeous. Photos don't do it justice.

You'll understand if you go. There's nothing remotely like it anywhere else.

been to north rim last year. AMAZING. and the sight of the eagle in the rocks (think it was called Eagle rocks) is so beautiful.

I have seen it from the south side...the more popular side for tourists....it was undescribably beautiful!

I plan to go back and see it from the north side in the near future.
