ya ok so the whole movie has you thinking that after the incident diane is extremely guilty and sad when actually you should be paying attention to her in her younger years. Diane is wanting to live and is thinking about letting the guy shoot maureen but she is imagining her life when she is older (uma thurman) and how miserable and unfullfilling it will be so she sacrifices herself
