Here is the petition:

"We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to lower gasoline prices (and diesel and other fuel prices)* by authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries."

  1. nope.  not about to.

consider that in Europe, gas and diesel cost far more than here in the US.

what has the high cost of gas done to their economy?

seems the Euro is doing pretty well these days.

maybe the US should get used to the fact that it's no longer an oil exporter.

in addition, petitions such as this are sponsored by the oil industry.

there's no way that the US will become oil independent.

other than by American drivers using far more fuel efficient cars.

consider, ANWR doesn't have enough oil to satisfy US demand for one single year.

consider the price of gas jumped this year.

consider it takes several years to bring new oil sources to market.

oil exploration is not the answer.

changing US oil use is the answer.

now i expect you'll not like my answer.

    it is, however, the truth.

in addition, have you noticed the price of diesel?

it used to be cheaper than gasoline.

    now it's much higher.

AND THE US IS EXPORTING DIESEL.

i just heard this the other day.  but it's true.

<<according to a new study commissioned by Consumer Watchdog. The detailed report shows that oil companies and their refiners produced less diesel, imported less diesel and exported far more diesel early in 2008 than in previous years. The result is that diesel fuel today is 80 cents above the price of regular gasoline.>>

oil company PROFITS aren't measured in the hundreds of billions lately by accident.

  2. Yes I posted it the other day, and most had not a clue, and some putdown answers also!! Oh well I tried

    God less you for trying!!!

  3. Yes ,a while ago,keep it going!

  4. I signed the one that says drill now is that the one your talking about.

  5. No, but I will. ASAP.

  6. No, because I don't think it's the answer to the problem. If it goes through, and gas goes down to say $2 gallon, it will just climb right up again due to demand and supply. We simply have to stop being hydrocarbon junkies and find better ways to do things- permanently.

  7. No did not know there was one .thanks for telling me. we all should sign it. .hope it works.

  8. I have another idea. Why don't you petition the Congress to STOP INFLATING THE CURRENCY so that all prices will be under control.

Geez, people. Don't you understand the smoke and mirrors and slight of hand that is misdirecting you away from the real problem?

  9. We should go to Mexico or Canada to fill up our gas tanks.
