Was it profitable? Did you only sale online? If I do it, I would only be able to sale it online because my job does not allow outside work.

  1. Yes, I've sold Avon, and it may or may not be profitable for you. I began selling it a few weeks before Christmas one year to try and make extra Christmas money, and I thought it would be profitable at that time, because of people buying lots of gifts and whatnot.

It's been almost a year and a half or so since I quit, so I'm not sure if it's changed, but for your first four orders, you get to keep 50% of what you make. If you feel the need to buy tons of samples, do it within the first four orders to where you can get them for cheaper. After your first four orders, you only get to keep 20% profit, but I think it may be more or less depending on how much stuff you sold. Unless if you know tons of people who will buy from you out of almost every new catalog, it's not worth it. It only seems like it is from the beginning because you get to keep 50%. After that, you pretty much get gipped. Not only do you have to buy all of your own supplies (the bags, catalogs, reciepts, etc.), but most of the time, people expect to be able to sample the product first. So you have to buy samples, too.

Give it a try if you know alot of people who will be reliable customers...otherwise, don't waste your time. Don't get me wrong; they have alot of GOOD, useful products...but it's really better to BUY Avon than to SELL it.

  2. Hello! I used to sell Avon, but didn't make any money with it. Then, 3 years ago, I started selling Mary Kay. I've had exactly the opposite experience with MK and I have built a great customer base. With MK, you always make a 50% profit on anything you sell, regardless of how little or how much you sell.

I would be more than happy to forward you some info the opportunity if you are interested.  :)

  3. I am currently selling Avon and have been doing so for about 2 years.  I make $250 every 2 weeks, so for me it has helped out alot.

As far as selling online, that is the most simple way to do it, plus Avon now seems to offer free shipping all the time now because of all the high gas prices, so that has been a money saver in that sense also.

Avon has also started online applications so that you can sign yourself up online, so to me that have been making alot of things easier for us reps to earn extra money.

Avon has only started allowing a few reps to assist others sign themself up online so if you are interested in signing up just contact me so that I could forward you the info on the website where you could do so.

    Hope this helped!
