Have you stayed at a Hard Rock Hotel before?

We are thinking of switching from a budget hotel to the Hard Rock Hotel when we go on holiday in a few months but just wondering if it would be worth it or is it just hype? It seems pretty child-friendly which we found appealing compared to the budget hotel which offered nothing for children but is almost double the price. Opinions please?

My husband and I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Studios Orlando several years ago and really loved it. We had a standard room booked but were registered with the Loews rewards program and were upgraded at the front desk to 'Concierge Level' for free. That was one of the nicest rooms we've stayed in, comparable to the Vegas Strip, and the Concierge Club was definitely a great perk. There were many children in the Concierge Club every evening, as they have DVDs and offer snacks and drinks included in your room price. The pool was wonderful and it had a boat that took you to the Universal Studios property and their 'downtown' area. Depending on which Hard Rock you're considering, it could be worth it. But I can definitely recommend the Hard Rock in Orlando and saw it to be child friendly. Have fun!
