$10- a ticket with $6- for child combo plus $9- for adult popcorn combo =$60 + dollars. Isnt that outrageous even if you can afford it. Thats why Hollywood is in trouble! I dont see a film till it comes out on dvd rental and I belong to a club so it's all done online for $25 a month of unlimited film watching.

  1. #1-avoid crime, watch movies in and avoid all those rude people that talk through the whole thing and also you can choose the best company instead of having it chosen for you.

  2. I no longer go to the theater.Rude kids, loud teens and questionable behavior, and cell phones, who can hear anything?DVD's are great!Order pizza in,get the pepsi out rent 3 movies and have a great night!

  3. Our Country (GOV) has done everything to tear down the American family.  You can no longer afford to take ALL your family to the movies, minature golf, dining..etc....without tAKING out a second mortgage on your home.  SAD!!

Thank god for block buster and Orville redenbaucker popcorn and microwave....SUCKS!!!Thge USA sold out our Steel  Cos, our plants..etc...the only thing the foreign countries to attack wa our families..our bonds..so they sent drugs to tear that apart..SAD!!

  4. We stopped going to the large movie theaters, just can't afford it.

But,my son and I still go to the drive-in about once a month during the summer. 2 movies for $7.00. This week we are going to see Get Smart and Zohan. We bring our own soda's and the food at the snack bar is delicious and cheap.

My son is 21 but this is something we have done ever since he was a little boy. I guess you'd say it is our special thing.

  5. Yes , and the stale popcorn is another turn-off . So, like I'm sitting there wondering why I'm throwing my money away to eat stale pop-corn and watch commercials ....AYYYIYII

  6. Yes I have. A movie has to be very good or else have a very good cast for me to spend that much. In the 90s I went to the movies once a week, now it's once every few months.

I think $5 per ticket is fair. I think $3 for a large popcorn is fair.

  7. Nope!  I still go all the time.  I'm 19 and work full-time during the summer to have money at college, and I go to the movies all the time.  Well, at least when a good movie is out.  I'm going to see Hancock and The Dark Knight soon after they come out.

Prices don't really concern me - I like supporting all the different places around here.  It's contributing to the local economy, to a small extent.  I'm also smart enough to bring in my own food.  It's not TECHNICALLY allowed, but none of the kids that work there mind at all.  My friends and I stuffed some cupcakes, Mr. Pibb, and Red Vines in my backpack when we saw Narnia, in homage to the SNL skit "Lazy Sunday," just because we were bored.  Just go to have fun, and don't be stupid and get the theatre food.  The reason its so expensive is because PEOPLE WILL BUY IT.  If you don't buy it, they'll be less likely to charge that much.

Also, just download movies on the internet.  I go to the theatre to make up for the fact that I download some movies.  I almost always go to the theatre before I download a movie.  I think it makes it a bit less illegal.  ...maybe.

  8. Why give Hollywood 25 each and every month they have enough money from theater ticket sales! Just get cable TV and you can watch everything for that one price!

  9. wow... people in my country are dying of hunger because food is becoming too expensive for them to buy and u are crying about movies being too expensive???
