Have you Swatted a Bug Lately?

Real bugs, these little creatures

do serve some useful purpose.

If nothing more food for birds

and exercise for our hands.

Swat

Now another type of bug abounds

Useful? No, no way… not at all.

We have enough irritants…

Parasites need to eat their own.

Swat

But the problem is they can’t.

They can’t eat their own.

The taste after all…vile

and for them no fun to bite.

Swat

So is this a…

paradoxical dilemma?

or a conundrum with tangents?

Maybe just a simple problem?

Swat!

With a simple solution…

Swat!

Easy to enact…

Swat!

Satisfying too…

Swat!

Now, don’t you feel better…

Swat!

  1. I live in South Texas, where bugs abound

I've got to swat them, don't want 'em around.

Swat 'em.  Spray 'em.  Kill them all dead.

Else those vile critters just fly around my head.

  2. Zzzzzero.

As the fly approached the windscreen,

too late, it saw the glass.

The last thing that went through it’s mind?

    I’m sorry to say… it’s ***.

  3. There was a fly in here the other day and I swear it was trying to send me to the nut house! The metro section of the paper is in shreds and the damned fly lives!

Metaphorically speaking I ignore the bugs...You should too.

    Good morning!

  4. No. I haven't taken a walk through congress or the Supreme Court.

  5. Aaah! So that's what that noise was the other night, bugs flying into the neon lights and getting zapped. Thought the air was clearer today.

  6. If you open the door, and entice it with all the action that abounds outside it will usually fly in that direction.  Nice poem.

  7. i killed a mosquito just yesterday :)

  8. Yes, I have.  I can only ignore an irritant for so long.  My self control is not as strong as some of the others.  I just can't stand the constant buzzing so I too "swat" at them.  Pesky bugs.  Fun Poem...I love that last part...made me giggle.

  9. This bug sounds like a viral kind.  Both real and virtual.  Swat - lol - I love it.

  10. Swat,Stomp, Swat, Swat, Stomp,,,,Oh h**l Yeah!!!

    Swat Swat,,,STOMP!!!,,,,d**n !! Almost had that d**n SNAKE,,,,,I Hate Snakes,,,,Stomp,,Stomp,,Swat

Thanks,,,, I do fell better !!!

  11. In my house there was a nasty bug,but no more

I tossed it out the kitchen door.

Like most things that bother or bug me the most

I entice them with rich honey on buttered toast.

Once landed they think they have a gourmet feast.

Then tossed to the birds,it doesn't bother me in the least.

But swatting seems like much more fun.

    Watching those little critters run.

  12. I have a feeling this isn't necessarily about insects...but i liked it none the less. My favorite word is nestled in your poem, and maybe it can be used to describe the poem itself....conundrum!  (which by the way, is a wine)  Loved it Neonman.

  13. nothing here bugs me,

    insects just love me.

    ouch! ew! UH! ouch!

    lol

This is a really a great poem Neon!

it deserves a picture at some point.

    my pen is itching..

  14. yes

    Nice poem

  15. yes, i have swatted a bug lately and i feel good about it.

  16. Sweet. Swatting bugs is really satisfying!

  17. When something bugs me, I ignore it.

  18. Bully Bugs are the worst in kind, especially those without faces, who

    can not be identified.

The poor dump creatures that enter in our doors, or squeeze in

through cracks unknown, I swat, as they crawl cross the floor.

  19. Not squatted no, but I killed all the caterpillars that were eating my brussels sprout plants with bug killer. It made me feel better, after all I put in the hard work growing them and they did nothing to deserve it. Also im terrified of butterflies so I suppose it means a few less of them in the world too.

I also dig up worms and feed them to my chickens.
