I just bought an Energy Saving bulb that uses 15 watts of electricity but produces the same amount of light as a 60 watt bulb. It is supposed to last 5-6 years too. Over the life of the new bulb I am supposed to save approximately $35 on my electric bill. I will not lie, the Energy Saving bulb was expensive--about $7--but I think it was a wise investment. Are you going to switch to Energy Saving light bulbs now that you know how much you can save? Don't forget, you will be cutting down on carbon emissions considerably.
