Have you taken SAM-e and did it work for you?

I dont want the wikipedia sam-e link or copy pasted from that or any other site. I want to know only if youve taken it, and if it worked. I want real experiences, not something I can look up myself online. Thank you.

My mom says that it works for her and my sister well, but I maintain that it only works as the result of the placebo affect.

But who knows :)

I took sertraline, the generic version of zoloft, and I gained like 25 pounds then I was more depressed than before.  I heard that St. Johns wort and Sam-e were the herbal alternative to the anti depressant so I tried sam-e and although I did not gain any weight on Sam-e, I really didnt feel that it helped at all.    Hope this helped.  However, different herbs and meds react differently with everyone.  Good luck!
