Have you taken a driving test in Ireland?

I passed mine so its ok to say some of the testers are very intimidating, rude and on a power trip. Everyone off the road tomorrow, it doesnt matter if you have driven for 7 years with nothing on your license, however if you have speeding fines etc. you will be allowed to continue as normal...is it really fair?

  1. all just a way for the government to make some easy money 1000 EURO MINIMUM fines some joke for no L plates or qualified driver with you in the car.and the bull about the qualified driver must have at least 2 years experience,if there good enough to have passed the test that surely is enough experience.

  2. its not fair...nd top make it worse the person in the passenger seat of a car driven by someone with a provisional has to have had their full licence for 2 whole years!!!! its nonsence!! my best frends mother has 5 children to drive around every day nd now cant (legally) do it!!!

  3. The world is not fair.

The driving privilege is not and should not be based on what is 'fair'.

To use 'fair' in a argument is lame, and is mostly used by small children. If you feel this way, you should not be allowed to drive without an extensive psychological evaluation (from which I'm sure you'll get a recommendation NOT to be issued a driver's license. But seeing as how I'm sure that you won't be required to do that, I'm sure glad I don't live in Ireland!).

  4. they should never have been allowed out on the roads in the first place without doing a test...
