  1. I am a Senior and have rode EVERY west coast train that AMTRAK has plus the Canadian VIA from Toronto to Vancouver. My favorite is the AMTRAK's "Empire Builder" from Chicago to Seattle. The scenery is spectacular. They used to have a train from Denver to Seattle called the "Pioneer" but it was dropped. It was also awesome.

  2. Thr Great Canadian, which is the train that runs through the Rockies in Canada is a fantastic trip. It is expensive, but well worth the time and money. The train makes stops throughout the trip, and you can book rides from British Columbia to Alberta, or all the way across the country. There are famous tunnels and scenery (spiral tunnels/Bow river/glaciers) and wildlife like you would never see from a car. I am not familiar with US rail connections, but any travel agent could answer that for you.

  3. Which one are you talking about? Which route?

My daughter worked on one of them while she was in college and it was a great experience, for her and the passengers. The passengers got very good service and the employees were treated well, she frequently got very nice tips form grateful passengers.

There are several different ones running but they all offer good service (as far as I know).

It is not a cheap trip but most people think it well worth the money.
