Did you like it? My husband and I want to transfer there from China next year. We'd like a university position, if we could get it...but what have been your experiences?

1. I've read terrible things about working permits.

2. I am a little nervous about my safety (I've been to San Jose, and I felt uncomfortable at times).

3. Where are some nice places to live, preferably near the coast?

4. If we can't get our ideal jobs, do your recommend any companies to look into?

I have already done a lot of research - please answer only if you've really worked there. Thanks!

  1. Dont be nervous about safety...i was in Quepos and I felt safe...its much smaller than SJ.  Living anywhere near Quepos is great...and because it is so touristy around there I got a job working at a touristy bar/restaurant.  Many other people worked getting American and Canadian tourists to buy different tour packages on the beach.
