  1. I've seen them at the mall, hanging around Cinnabon's and sometimes Sears. If you're talking about the water animal, I would not want to pet one from a boat or go swimming with one. They're not aggressive, but they're just so big they could F you up without even realizing it. I'd stick to petting smaller marine animals like Dolphins. Also, I've heard Great White sharks like it when you tickle them under the chin, you should try it!

  2. I have.  It came up to our kayak one day when we were out whale watching off the Southern California coast.  It had three fish hooks stuck in it whose lines had gotten all tangled together with other hooks and line and debris.  It held very still while my late wife, Anne, nipped off the points with her trusty side-cutters, withdrew the hooks and put Neosporin ointment on the wounds.  When she removed one from a flipper about a foot out from the body, I held on to the flipper to keep the boat steady while Anne worked.

We unwrapped two other humpbacks that had gotten tangled up in fishing nets on other trips, but we didn't touch either of them directly, just the nets, floats and weights.

  3. It's illegal to touch a humpback whale because experts are worried about it freaking out the endangered animals. Or at least that's what I heard. I might be wrong.

  4. Unfortunately no. I'd love to though.

I've touched a killer whale at the zoo before though. They feel like touch rubber, I guess they feel pretty much the same except perhaps more rough.

    Have you?

    ;)
