If yes, what did you think of the SPIRE in the middle of the city centre?

  1. Never been, sorry.

  2. I was there a few months ago and I saw it and liked it.

It's unusual and that's its attraction. They have enough statues there so something else was required. Like all works of art in all cities it will get some initial negative responses but it will grow on people and they'll come to love it.

  3. id hate to land on top of it!!

  4. I am from Dublin & some wits call it the needle cause of some of the busness going on there.I think it is rubish & a wase of tax payers money

  5. I live five miles from Dublin City Centre, and I can see the Spire at night from my flat. Incidentally, it has many names here, my particular avourite  is 'The stiffy by the Liffey'. Only we would come up with a title like that. I think its ok tho.

  6. I thought it was "different!" not entirely sure of the reason for it, don't know if you could call it art - but not really opposed to or offended by it!!

  7. i was there about 6 months ago

i thought the spire looked abit stupid, it does not really fit with the city

it is called the milliuem tower is it not?

  8. It was nice, not sure of the reason it's there but it gives the City something to be known for upon other things.

  9. I live in Dublin & personally I think its stupid & serves no purpose!!! I think the money spent on it could have been used to construct something more beautiful ... But hey the "Stiffy on the Liffey" looks like its here to stay lol lol lol

  10. Absolutely loved it, what a beautiful sight!

  11. It's certainly interesting, but pretty. I saw it during construction and after construction - definetly better now it's finished.

It's like any city centre, adding gleaming chrome statues and the like to make our city centres look pretty...I'd rather they spent the money on something decent like low-cost housing (can you tell I'm desperate for such a flat?)

  12. Nope, unfortunately, I'm in sh*tty Utah (US)... and no I'm not being sarcastic... it SUCKS here.

  13. Yeah seen it "the pole by the dole". Impressive or wha'. It cost millions and replaced the only public toilet in the city centre to add insult to injury. So now cross legged I return home after a night on the beer. Personally I prefered "the h**r in the sewer" that was there before. Now that was a freaky statue !
