I'm just wondering what peoples' personal experience has been with this diet. Does it actually work?

  1. I haven't tried it and I'll tell you why.  My understanding is you that you eat 200 calories day 1, then 400, 600, 800 on day 4.  You've successfully thrown you body into starvation mode, so any fat you've eaten has been stored, and your body has already started to break down your muscle tissue for survival.

This is why "diets" don't work.  You restrict calories to an unhealthy level, lose mostly muscle, then go back to your original eating habits, and now have less metabolic structure to burn calories, so you put on weight in the form of fat and end up weighing more than before with less muscle mass to help you burn it off.

Two books can help you lose weight and keep it off by changing your habits, teaching you how to exercise, when to eat, how to eat and what to eat.  Make an investment in your long term healthy and pick up a copy of Body for Life by Bill Phillips, and Ultra-Metabolism by Dr. Mark Hyman.

  2. diets don't work, plain and simple, NONE work... forget about them...
