Thanks for the site Diane.

Yes Winnie I have several lights that have to burn a bunch, but even that said the things cut down on everything.

  1. I haven't tried them yet.  I have thought about it.  Since I have seen your question I think I will try the two bulbs at the back of my house.

    -Thanks

  2. not until they have a three-way bulb. to save $40. dollars using 10 cents per kwh , you would need to save 400,000 watts. thats the equal of 10 100watt bulbs burning for 400 hours or 14 hours a day .you must love lights.

  3. Each bulb saves on average of $40 Based on $.10 Per KWH over the life of the bulb but also saves the replacement cost of 10 bulbs over the same CFL Life.  So you actually save $50 per bulb.  The life of the GE bulbs mostly is 8000 hours/7-10 years based on usage.  Most homes have about 150 bulbs, I know because its part of my business.

    ie:  Here's the Math:

    60w-13w=47w saved x 8000 hour life= 37.6KWH saved Each

    Texas Rate =$0.145 KWH=54.53 Saved+ $10 Regular Bulbs=$64.53 -- $.03 (Average 7 year CFL Cost per Month) x 150 Bulbs = $9675 SAVED =

$115.18 PER MONTH for 7 Years

$100.78 Per Month over 8 years

$89.58 Per Month over 9 Years

You Get The Idea.  They Pay For Themselves and Save You Money!

Now I also carry the NEW Dimmable CFL Bulbs.  They do have 3 way bulbs as well but they are the CFL Ring Shape Bulbs.  My Dimmable's have 8000 to 10000 hour ratings

  4. No way, you're not gonna save 40 bucks for replacing lamps, unless you have at least 300 lamps.

And also the white color coming out of the energy efficiency lamps are like cemetery or funeral ambient lamps, ugly, cold, and depressing.

  5. yue bet and I found them at the dollar store, and they have those little pg&e stickers on the, for the rebate

  6. I have actually. For more energy saving/money saving tips go to www.bepartofthesolution.us

  7. Wow, that much? I have a few of them but now that I know someone who can actually vouch for their effectiveness, I will get more. Thanks for the tip!

  8. Is this actually a question or are you just telling everyone you used them? :)

I replaced all my house lights with them and yes it saves some money.

  9. I stoped buying regular bulbs 2 years ago and as the old lights go out I'm replacing them with the CFLs.  My house is almost converted but I can not notice any cost differences because it was so gradual.
