Have you used Cal paint?

OK, I know this isn't a travel question but this is the section that gets the most traffic from people familiar with Mexico.

I have a new exterior wall, for paint a local is recommending cal paint. I have read what little I can find about this type of paint. I have heard that due to moisture in the walls that it is prone to flaking but also that modern paints may not adhere any better given the conditions.

The house is beachfront so the more durable the paint the better. Does anyone have any insights on cal paint? Should I use cal paint over modern paint? Does the concrete wall need to be sealed first?

We mix cal and cemento blanco in with our paint.  Power wash first.  Still needs to be painted every 2 years.   We live a block from the beach
