  1. I personally would choose something organic. i used it on my son who is allergic to alot of skin stuff and it helped a little bit, but organic stuff has been the best. I use an Aussie product called Miessence which is a range of certified organic skincare products. If you want to know more, contact me via my email and I can give you some details (and anyone else who wants to now can give me an email also).

If not, just buy the smallest container you can find in case it doesn't work - nothing worse than having to chuck out a litre of stuff that doesn't work for you!!

  2. No i use Pure Olive Oil. works great for dry & sensitive skin.. Also clears up cradle cap- i swear by it and it is less toxic and more natural for baby's skin.

However QV wash is great for dermatis -  in adults from my expereince. see what u think and compare

  3. My friends believe QV gently removes dermatitus.

  4. I use it for my 9 month old bub and it works quite well in controlling her eczema. I also use the QV Bath oil in her bath and the two work quite well together. A friend of mine has tried many different creams for her son and sent this to me which might help you:

    Natural

Gaia Skin Soothing lotion - is a great one for nappy rash and eczema that's not too bad.  It's thick and provides relief more than getting rid of the rash.

Hope's Relief cream for Eczema - Find it in health shops and some chemists.  I used this for his back and chest and it cleared it up in about a week when I used it 3 times a day.  Doesn't work on Charlie's inner arms though (go figure!)  Expensive, but it worked for Charlie.

Martin and Pleasance Calendula cream - Works great on nappy rash, but not on large areas.

Lucus' Pawpaw Ointment - It stops the rash from speading, but doesn't get rid of it.  Although, lately I have found that it works well on small amount of eczema behind his ears and dry skin.  Available at health food shops and cheaper at Chemist warehouse.

Mihopharm Psori Lotion - I found this at a market and I think you can buy it online (or send away for it).  It worked very well on large areas such as Charlie's back.  Web site is www.mihopharm.com.au.  Or if that doesn't work, so a google search.

    and

Graeme's Calendula Plus cream - available from the health shop.  This one has rave reviews, but it didn't work on Charlie.  It has an ingredient in it that some people have a reation to.  I guess Charlie's one of those people.  Just thought I'd put it in though, coz it's meant to be good stuff.  Been on today tonight and everything.  Once again, an expensive option.

    Not so natural.

Dermaveen - has been recommended to me and I've used it a couple of times.  Can find it at chemists.

Sorboleen (don't know if it's natural or not?)- I used this on Charlie's face everytime I changed his nappy, and it cleared up.  However, I have since heard that it can 'burn' a baby's skin, but once again, maybe that's only certain children.  I would still stay away from products with sorboleen in them.

Hortocortozone - I think that's how you spell it.  Anyway it's the one that the doc perscribes, but you can't use it all the time, only when it's really bad and the child is in obvious pain (waking at night and scratching).  Allegedly, it thins the skins and if used to long, causes pigmentation problems, but if you gotta use it, you gotta.  Doesn't hurt in small doses.
