I don't think that the vinyl would really be all that durable.  Consider soft carpeting or wood.

I think you mean lyno tile flooring. You have 2 main manufacturers "amtico" or "kardeen", both are very durable and most ranges come with 10 years or more wear warranty. But lyno tile is very expensive to buy and have fitted. I would use rubber flooring for a childs room, this is durable while being child friendly see the link below
