  1. i wouldnt in the kitchen. depending on the type, they dont go well with water. Sometimes they will bubble up, or tear if you have heavy furniture.

  2. We installed Pergo when we built our house.  We used a "walnut" finish which is impossible to keep clean.  As soon as we can afford it we will be replacing with real wood.  We don't like the way it looks.

  3. I have it in my living and dining room. The company gave me a 25 yr. guarantee. It looks and feels great! Don't know if I'd use it in the kitchen though.

  4. Yes,and I have had no problems, however if you have big dogs, their claws do tend to dent it some.  Also between the seams it gets a little harder to clean.

  5. I wouldn't use it in a kitchen/bathroom. Usually water and wood don't mix. My parent have it in their house and the place they bought it from said not to use it in a kitchen/bathroom they will warp.

  6. hi,

i installed wood laminate in my bedroom a few months ago and I absolutely love it. It's such an improvement over carpeting, especially if you have lots of pets like I do. The odors that are trapped in the carpet just disappear.

I sweep and mop it just once a week and it always looks like brand new again. If you are installing for the first time it may be a little difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it you'll see how simple it is to install. The hardest part is fitting around doorways. If you have the kind that locks together, be very careful you don't tap too hard with the mallet b/c the slip and groove can break off easily. If you're using it in the kitchen I'd recommend a moisture-proof padding for underneath, since there tends be issues with spilling and such in there and you don't want the wood to swell.

The main thing is to get the pieces in as tight as possible so the lines aren't visible and it will look perfectly seamless. Another very important tool to buy is some wood glue. If you dab on a few drops on each plank you'll see how much easier to is to keep the pieces in place while you tap away. Otherwise, it can be extremely frustrating as they slip out of place.

I highly recommend the swift-lock brand. It comes with a 25 year guarantee and it's scratch resistant.

Anyway, I highly recommend it. We're going to be doing our living room very soon as well. Hope you enjoy your new floor!

  7. i have it throughout the whole house!

Its great if you spill something an SOOOOO easy to clen an looks great when it is clen

I have a dog an the dust an hairs clup together an is really easy to see, can also be quite cold at night an in winter - not as cosy as carpet.

    Overall - great choice

  8. If the quality is good, you will like it. It looks like wood, but is less expensive and can be just as durable if not more so.  The advantage to wood is its genuine look and the fact you can sand it down and refinish it a few times over the life of the floor.  But I think you will like the laminate product just fine in your kitchen

  9. I have it in my living room and love it.  You can use it in the kitchen, but you need the stuff for kitchens.  I love the look of bamboo and totally recommend looking into that.  Plus it's "green".
