Have you watched what congress does lately?

At a time when we are filling up our tanks at $4.00 a gallon, I am astounded what congress is doing.

I just happened to run across C-SPAN and left it on while I continued to work. For about 30 minutes Republican after Democrat went to the microphone and talked how they supported a bill to recognize the USS Nautilus crossing under the North Pole in a nuclear-powered submarine 50 years ago.

They then called for a verbal vote, then someone raised a motion that they should be counted, then they said since there wasn't enough there, they would count the vote later.

Then the next guy to take the microphone wanted support for a bill honoring the Screaming Eagles (101st airborne) service. This went on for another 30 minutes with the same results.

Then on to the Navaho code talkers in the military and a bill recognizing the so many years since discrimination of minorities in the military and so on.

Agree, agree, agree.  We have got a real "joke" for lawmakers, don't we?  And, to think they make good money for the rest of their lives to sit around and talk and vote on things that happened so many years ago, most of us could care less.  Let's take care of business for our citizens today and in the future.

Whoever invented the exprtession, ":useless as **** on a bull" must have been thinking of our congress.

But, better days are coming. I heard they are debatng holding a congressional inquiry into why congressional inquiries are such a waste of time.

Amen to that.  I totally agree.  Besides, who are the remaining 9% that approve of Congress?  they must not know much about anything.

I completely agree with you. This is how they get out of doing any real work while they're in session. By the way, have you ever paid attention to how much time they get off work? Regular people couldn't take that much time off. Why do they get a full year's salary for doing nothing? Don't they think their job is important enough to be there full time?
