Downsizing what you drive?

For the past 8 years i have driven a small car with a stickshift and i just cant handle it any longer. I am having problems with my left leg which you need for driving a stick of course. I am about to trade up to something bigger while most people seem to be wanting something smaller!

I dont want a real huge car, just something midsized with 4 doors. I want something more comfortable even if it means using a little bit more gas.

So have you given up your larger car for something smaller? Or can you just not imagine being crammed into some ultra small compact car?

  1. Y E S, I  H A V E!

from a daily driven 1988 Chevy Silverado V8, to a "just last week" 1999 Chevy Cavalier 4cyl...

    >>> I say you should take a good close look at a Chevy Equinox... roomiest rear seat of any mid size crossover Suv... and it has a standard thrifty v-6 and a 5 speed auto...{my friend just got a  08 LT2 Equinox...

  2. the bmw x3 or the x5 is pretty much a mid size suv but the x3 is a little cheaper than the x5 so i would go wit the x3 they have great gas millage for an suv

  3. I drive a Honda CR-V, kinda a small SUV but but also a bit of a mid size as a car.

My son just bought a Honda Civic. Not a tiny car, but very nice to drive and it gets very good mileage.

  4. Nope still driving my 1972 Dodge Dart, will be until I cant drive no more

  5. Hyundai Santa fe. Like a small SUV. Best car I have ever owned, automatic, 4 door, comfy, and it drives like a dream. My wife and I spent a day test driving everything out there and darn it in the around the block tests it handled so nice. Price was good in fact cheaper than most and we got it. So happy we did. At 75 mph it gets between 24 and 25 mpg. Last vacation to California I got an Incredible 28 and 29 mpg crossing the Nevada northern desert and again when I crossed the CA/AZ desert on the return. I was going 80 most of the time.

We bought it last year and have absolutely fallen in love with it. I never thought anything would beat a Toyota but we just couldn`t afford the new ones and shopped around for a cheaper alternative new car. I was amazed. I`m still a Toyota man but this Santa fe is sure good.

    Glad you asked

  6. how much smaller can i get, i drive a 90 civic that gets about 35 mpg.

  7. I would recommend a used Buick Century. It's comfy, reliable, it has an automatic, classic looks and it get's good gas mileage for it's size (30 mpg highway). Plus with the way Buicks depreciate you should be able to get one cheap, thousands less than a  used Japanese car.
