Have you worked in a call center? especially for political fundraising?

i'm thinking about taking a job as a political fundraiser for the democratic party...it would be in a call center environment and i would basically just call people to ask them for money. have any of you done this or something similar? would you suggest it?

I have done it. If you are interested in serving a cause, then go for it. If you just want a job, then it's not something I would recommend. You need a thick skin. You have to keep up a good mood in the face of verbal abuse. You have to say the same lines over and over again without sounding as if you are reading them or are tired of saying them.

But is one way to make a difference in this world, even though you are just a small part of it. If I haven't discouraged you by now, then maybe you can do it.
