Have your ever heard of Darfur?Where is it?Where are the Gates of Sudan?

Western Sudan, bordering Chad. A racial conflict involving 'Arab' Sudanese against 'black' Sudanese.  The Sudanese Government (also 'Arab' dominated) claims not to be involved.

Millions pf displaced persons and hundreds of thousands killed. I'm amazed that someone could avoid hearing about the situation.

Darfur is in Sudan, and there is currently a civil war going on that basically threatens genocide in the country. I think the "gates of Sudan" you are referring to is  US Defense Secretary Robert Gates , or even Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates. The latter's Foundation pledged $10 million in 2006 for relief efforts. Darfur is in Sudan and i don't know about the gates of Sudan.
