  1. Yup been there done that, you regret not draining the gas out the most.

Ok first drain out the old gas (unconnect the fuel line before the on/off switch so that you dont clog the switch up)

then take out the carb and take it apart, you need to clean out the float valve and all the tubes that had gas in it.  then spray it out with carb cleaner.

next take out the air filter and replace it. take out the spark plug and replace that too.

Lube the chain, bearings and cables

If you want to get it really good, take off the head and flush out any old buildup inside the top end,  and drain out the old crankcase oil and replace it.

last put in a little new high octane gas [like 110 octane] (mixed for your bike) to give it a clean start.

and that should do it, dont be suprised if you cant get it started after that though, 6 years is a long time: that is just what the dealer would do for starters that can easily be done yourself.

  2. 6 years.?  Not bad   I know my 175 starts up on the second kick with 5 year old stuff in it.        Never worried about it.    Idled good, just lubed the chain and hosed the bike down and went ripping in the bush.     Nary a worry.

  3. Drain that old nasty fuel out of it . You may also need to clean out carb as it probably has a varnish like substance in it  Take out spark plug and pour some oil in cylinder as it is likely dry Clean plug or replace it if you can. Give air filter a good bath using soapy water . rinse and then put some filter oil on it. I usually just drop it into some oil and let soak
