Haven't received my income tax or stimus check. Why!?

Okay I've filed my income tax for 07, I received a letter stating that there was a mistake on my taxes and I am getting X amount. That was in April, I still haven't received it. I've called the IRS(or people who handles the taxes). They said they mailed it out in April and I told them I never received it, they are now investigating it.

Now I still haven't received my stimus check, my last digits end with 61 and said it's supposed to come June 20th. Since I haven't received my income tax is that the reason I haven't gotten my stimus? I went on the site and put my info in and it said I should be receiving a $300 stimus check. Any input would be great. Thanks.

mine was supposed to be here friday, but guess what..I still have no check..I have a feeling the postal service is what the hold up!!

Let me start here, if the June 20th date was gotten from the IRS web site then that is the date the IRS mailed the Stimulus Check not the date you will receive the check.

Since you have been notified of a mistake on your tax year 2007 return, the IRS will also send you a letter telling you what the mistake was and how much was either added to your refund or what was subtracted.  It is possible that if the mistake caused you to owe the IRS then your Stimulus Check would be applied to the debt before any money is mailed to you.

Calling the IRS can and usually is diffucult to get to a person.  You can find a local IRS office on the web site www.irs.gov.

The problem with your original return, if you have not heard from the IRS in the time frame the IRS gave you then contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service in your state.  You can find out information on the Advocate on the IRS web site also.

Sounds as if someone is stealing your mail/   Call the IRS

If not, by early next week.  I'd bet the ranch on it.
