I haven't snowboarded since the year before last. I was pretty good, doing tricks in the park and all, but for some reason I feel like I'm gonna suck. My boyfriend's taking me up to the mountain tomorrow, any tips to make me not look like a complete fool?

  1. Take a lesson... if you want to do freestyle stuff, ask them when you sign up for the lesson.  I know it's extra money, but it will save you a lot of pain, frustration, and embarassment.  Not all lessons have to be boring or a waste of time.

  2. Start with the carving. Its back and forth motions of stopping. toe stopping, heel stopping, etc. Get into what your confortable with. Practice few ollies, head to terrain park at your steady pace if you wish. On ramps, start with a hop, then as you progress, to jumps, then the tricks. Rails/funboxes, go with the ez 50 on 50. then the 10 on 10, then start tricking. For ground tricks, just do whenever your feeling you want to cuz if you know how to go on terrain parks, ground tricks should be ez. Remember to get your butt as far as you can from the seat to land your board on the ski lift ramp. Have fun!
