Question:

Having AWD Van Troubles...Help !

Hey everyone,

I have a 95 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The front right wheel area has been making a loud ticking noise...almost sounds like exaggerated tap shoes when going slow. Can barely here it when driving fast, but it is still there. One time it felt and sounded as though I was driving on the rumble strip, but hasn't done it since.

I am having tranny problems, but it is slipping, not grinding.

I know I should trash the thing, but it is all I have, and it has been very good to me.

With the limited knowledge I have, it sounds to me like a CVC Joint, or bearing going out.

Could anyone tell me, with an educated opinion, what the problem might be?

Thank you in advance for all your help !!

  1. sounds like a flat spot on your outer wheel bearing, advisable to check both inner and outter.

  2. It might be the joint or bearing like you suggested.

However, I had this happen one time, and it drove me nuts, until I found a rock lodged in the treads. :D Check that maybe?
