  2. I wouldn't see why not. It's not communicable, and there shouldn't be any rules about it. If you really are worried, contact your Department of Health or your doctor.

  3. Having CF won’t restrict you from having a snake as a pet. Different types of animals can carry different diseases. Some animals may be more likely than others to carry diseases that make people sick. If you have a compromised immune system or have received organ transplants you might consider another pet or ask your CF clinic. Our clinical staff is pretty liberal and pushes to keep all CFer’s doing whatever they want. If you fit into one of the groups of people outlined above, you should avoid contact with reptiles, turtles and snakes.

Reptiles (e.g., lizards, snakes and turtles) carry a bacterium (germ) that can make people sick. The good news is this doesn't happen very often. Most pet-to-people diseases can be avoided if you follow a few common-sense rules. If you get a pet snake, you should always wash your hands after handling the pet or anything in its cage. You should also be sure to frequently wash the cage, the area around the cage and any items used to clean the cage.

Pet snakes are also usually pretty robust and healthy and are pretty simple to keep as pets. Overall care is going to vary, so make sure that you fully understand of the particular snake species. Proper care can be the biggest factor in preventing health concerns, although not eliminating them 100%.
