My son recently built his new computer, but we are having trouble connecting it to the internet. When we open Network Connections, there is nothing there, we are using a LAN network, connecting through a Belkin router to our modem.

  1. if you open Network Connections and find it empty

it's cause of one of the following:

1- network card is not installd as a hardware if there is a network card make sure that it's installed correctly.

2- the software driver is not installed in the system. and you can check that by right click over my computer>manage>device manager> you will find all the hardware attached to the pc . and you may found a yellow ( ? ) beside the hardware which dosen't have software driver installed

Please Edit your Qustian for more help tell me what you find and i will update the answer till the problem is solved
