Having Michael Hussey around is going to help us: Australia vice captain Michael Clarke
Australia vice-captain Michael Clarke believes that the induction of lower middle-order batsman Michael Hussey as a replacement of injured pacer Doug Bollinger will benefit the Aussies in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011, being hosted by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747.
Talking to reporters, Clarke said, “Hussey brings in a lot into the team, lot of experience in these conditions. His career in all forms of game is as good as anybody else. His record is unbelievable in one-day cricket and has been successful in subcontinent as well. He will surely play a big part in the rest of the World Cup.”
Clarke reiterated that Hussey was a match-winner and in the past, has proven that he has the ability to win matches for Australia on his own. Last week, Mike’s younger brother David Hussey also suggested that if anybody deserved to replace Bollinger, it was Mike. The Australian batting is already in a good knick and with the addition of Hussey, they are going to become an extremely difficult side to bowl out.
Hussey was over looked by the Australian selectors for the final squad of the World Cup after he picked a hamstring injury in January while playing against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 in the first One Day International of a seven-match ODI series.
The Aussie immediately underwent a surgery in order to regain full fitness before the World Cup. However, Cricket Australia (CA) decided not to take any risks and dropped him from the national team.
Nevertheless, Hussey has been granted another chance to shine in the mega event and there is every reason to believe that the veteran Aussie is going to make the best out of the opportunity that has come his way.
Speaking on Australia’s upcoming clash against win-less http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kenya-c752, Clarke said that his side was pumped up in the tournament and the team was ready to take on the minnows on Sunday. The clash is to take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Clark has fond memories of this stadium because this is the same venue where he scored his century on his Test debut.
“I do enjoy coming back here, as there are a couple of memories of me and my family in the change room when I scored my first Test ton. It's a very special ground for me, hopefully I will get a chance against Kenya and I hope to score some runs,” he said.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in their remaining Group-A matches. Where at the moment the match against Pakistan seems like the only tough fixture for the defending champions. Clarke, on the other hand, ruled out the possibility of taking the minnows Kenya and Canada lightly.
