  1. It depends if they need to be cut out or can be pulled out. . I  had 3 pulled out and 2 cut out. It was about a week before I could eat solid food. It didn't really hurt much at all.

  2. maybe the operation probably will take approximately one hour

for the pain,, it depends on your pain treshold,, just take it cool and easy,,, n dont forget to take analgesic or pain killer such as mefenamic acid,, it helps a lot

    hope that helps :)

  3. Everyone told me it was very painful but it was no big deal the worst bit is you face swells alot. But just make sure you dont let you pain killers run out and you should be right thats what i did and it worked.

    good luck

  4. yes it does hurt afterwards. some hurt for an hour others can hurt for a few days upto a few weeks.

    depends how u do it.

i had 3 wisdom teeth removed seperatly all impacted.

1st took less then an hour

    2nd took bout an hour

    3rd took over 2 hours.

but i was awake for all this.

being asleep itll prolly take an hour to an hour and half.

for my first one being removed i didnt have any pain pills for like 5 hours bc my mom had car troubles and my dad wasat work.

my pain tolerance went from very lil to a whole h*ll of a lot.

    expect a sore jaw afterwards.

  5. It's can be different for each person.

You hurt for a couple days and the operation takes less than an hour.

It really depends on how impacted they are, if they are fully erupted (above the gum) and how well you follow the Dr's orders afterwards.

Your jaw muscles will be a little sore afterwards (from being open) and  you won't want to eat a hamburger or steak. However, I have found that most patients simply feel the anesthetic (put to sleep) was the only reason they felt tired afterwards and the next day.

Drink shakes, eat ice cream, soft foods, DON'T DRINK THRU A STRAW! This is most important. And no smoking. Drink plenty of fluids and you will be fine. I promise.

Good luck to you! Everyone has different experiences so try not to give yourself nightmares.

    You'll do great! =)

  6. No, it doesn't hurt much at all. I had mine removed four days ago and so far, I am doing great. Just make sure that when you go in for the procedure, to request to be put to sleep with general anesthesia. This way will guarantee that you will feel no pain and will not see anything that's going on. Once they inject the IV into your arm (which feels like a normal pinch when you get a shot), you will fall asleep within half a minute. And in what feels like a minute later, you will wake up and everything is done. You won't even know they worked on you. The actual operation takes about 5-6 minutes on each tooth. But it feels like a minute to you if you are put to sleep. Then just remember to take your medications on a strict schedule and you won't get a chance to feel the pain. If they prescribe you Vicodin, I suggest taking one Vicodin with three Motrins every 4-5 hours. This will keep the pain and swelling away. For me, it only hurt when I woke up this morning on one of my holes. But I took the pills, and now I'm fine. So, relax. You'll do great =) Good luck.

  7. It doesn't really hurt as long as you keep up with your medications. You're just get really uncomfortable from all the swelling, bleeding, and not being able to eat much. My swelling lasted about 2-3 weeks, but everyone's healing time is different. I've heard some people wereperfectly fine 3 days after the surgery. My operation was about 20 minutes from the minute I sat on the chair and the minute I left it. But the actual extraction was probably 5 minutes, more or less.

    Good luck!

  8. oh sh*T yes.. d**n uncomfortable after.

I remember going to the pharmacy with my mom to pick up my pain medication that was perscribed. The freezing totally went away while I was there. I just broke down!  So embarrasing but I was in pain!

I was so weak for a few days because I just couldn't get enough food into me. One night I actually fainted from having no food in me and just pain medication.

Don't remember how long the operation took. maybe an hour?

maybe invest in a blender or magic bullet blender if you dont' already have one. Good luck!

  9. I didn't find it to be too bad. I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out at the same time. All of them were impacted which meant that they all had to be cut out of the gums. Afterward my jaw was a little stiff and sore, but overall it wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be.

  10. I was put to sleep, and the procedure only took 20 minutes. (5 minutes for each tooth).

It only hurt for a little, the pain meds help so much! I couldn't eat regular food until a week later. Each person is different so only eat solid foods when you feel comfortable in chewing. (I couldn't put my teeth together for a week).

Do the salt rinses! It helps you heal so much faster!

Just follow all the rules your surgeon gives you and you will be A-Ok!

    Good luck!

PS. I swear its not that bad and I was scared s**tless before I went in!

  11. no. not with the right meds

  12. I had 4 cut out.

The whole operation shouldn't take more than about an hour.

Yes, there is a lot of discomfort afterwards. Stay doped up on painkillers, trust me. The first day is the worst. You have a lot of blood in your mouth and it's hard to spit out so you sort of have to bend over the sink and let gravity to do its work.

Umm... I don't know. Eat slushy stuff. Ice-cream is good. Mashed potato.

EAT! Trust me. I didn't eat for the first 24 hours and fainted because I was so weak.

My pain was present for about a week. But 11 days after the operation, I went out to dinner and could eat so it was all good :]

Don't be scared, though! It's not THAT bad. And once they're gone, you never have to worry about them again.

Yes, you're miserable for a few days, but it's worth it.

Oh, and do EVERYTHING the doctors tell you. EVERYTHING. Yes, it may mean using the stupid water syringe thing every hour. And you have to mouthwash about a million times a day. But TRUST ME. Do it. Don't slack off, not even once. It makes the recovery better, faster and less painful :]
