My little boy will be 5 and his party is this week. I have different ideas like the Limbo, Sand art, orpin the tail on the mouse, stuff like that but there will be a couple older ones like 8 and 9 there as well and don't want them bored. I also have a pinyata' for them to hit. I'll take some ideas please. I want it to be fun but not to expensive, it's just going to be about 4 or 5 kids. I thought about having music for them to dance around or is that to old?? My little one loves Hanna Montana or The High School Musical people and songs. I don't know, just throwing things around. Help me out please.

  1. Salad Spinner Art, Very Fun!

Buy cheap salad spinner, (from wal-mart, or similar).

Cut circles of construction paper to fit bottom of basket.

Each child , (or you),  squirt a small amount of craft paint onto circle of paper, set into salad spinner.  Child cranks salad spinner 4-5 times.   Open spinner and see amazing design on paper.

(Note:  Place spinner in box before spinning, or paint will spatter from the bottom).

Especially cool if you use black construction paper and gold, silver and bronze craft paint.)

BTW, 8-9 yr old girls will love dancing, but most boys will not.  (OK, I am generalizing, but I think it holds true.)

  2. Oh, gosh I think you have some great ideas already.  The 8 and 9 year old should have fun with that kind of stuff.  Sounds like you've put a lot of planning into it! Have fun!!

  3. you have some pretty good ideas so far && why not an old fashion musical chairs ha ha ha. but whatever you think of should be okay...

  4. Hmm... well...

    Here's some ideas:

    1) Water Balloon Toss

    2) They have like there sprinkler water things they can run through if weather permits

    3) Musical Chairs (the kids should love the songs you mentioned)

    4) Oh and you can like have little prizes for the winners of all the games

    5) Or you can organize little games of like basketball, soccer and stuff. They sell oversized balls for that. They're pretty unexpensive.

    6) Maybe set up a small cheap volleyball net

    7) Hand out party favors or bags and fill them with like candy and little toys.

    Hope that helps.

    :D

    Good luck.

  5. If it's warm enough, get them all water guns, or water balloons (let the moms know that they'll be getting wet).... Slip & Slide........  Call your fire department, or police department, ahead of time and see if they will stop by and talk to the boys.  They're usually really accomodating about that!

  6. Musical chairs, pass the parcel (you wrap some small gift in as many layers of paper as you can, like 20, and they pass it. When music stops that person has to unwrap just 1 layer, music on, pass again, last person gets the gift...and you can use the comics or newspapers to save on $)

Egg and spoon race if outside (run with an egg on a spoon, breaks if dropped)

All kids seem to love music, so have a variety ready, and you can use it with the games.

    Have fun...can I come?

  7. Ok I got kids around those ages and the olders ones will like what youve already mentioned I think, but a few more ideals if it can help is jellybean jar guessing game, or boil couple of eggs and put on spoon and have them walk/ or run without dropping the egg to a certain spot and back see who is the fastest without dropping egg.And if they drop it have to start over. And finaly as one of the later games blow a few balloons up and have them line up and see who can pop it the fatsest. If you have alttle one having probs popping theirs just sneak behind it and pop it for them. All these games are very inexpensive and alot of fun. Good luck to you with the party.
