Having a bonfire this weekend for my hubby's birthday?

He wants to have a bonfire in the backyard. What should I serve? The fire pit is next to our garage, so I thought about putting a table there.

Should I have the food in the kitchen upstairs or in the garage next to everyone? I don't want tons of things that have to be kept chilled. I thought if i did potato salad, I could keep it in a cooler.

  1. I've planned tons of parties (non-professionally) and I have a great idea for you! Well, I'm hoping that your garage is clean, because you should have everything in the garage/outside, because you don't want your guests scattered. If you don't want a bunch of stuff to require refrigeration, then you can serve hamburgers and hot dogs (if you don't eat that, there are turkey hot dogs and hamburgers as well as tofu hot dogs and hamburgers, I think the turkey and tofu ones are better than the real ones. Also you can serve soup, soup usually keeps it's heat. Also you can serve alcohol, like wine and beers, which don't necessarily require to be cold.

Potato Salad is a great idea! You can also serve chips, and

    stuff of that sort!

    Hope I helped!

    Good Luck!

  2. If you are having a bonfire, roast hot dogs on sticks, kids love that and it is easy.  I would keep the food in the garage next to everyone.  Easy things to munch on like chips and dips, chips and salsa.  Bratwurst boiled in beer, then roasted on sticks for the adults.  condiments are easy for hot dogs and brats...........ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, sauerkraut.  Brownies and cookies for dessert.  Maybe some baked beans, keep warm in a crock pot.  Have fun.

  3. I'd make some barbeques or shredded beef sandwiches. Keep them outside in a crock pot because wherever the food is - that's where the people will be! You could also do crackers and cheese/ fresh fruit/ chips, maybe another crock pot of beans and then brownies/ cookies/ cake for dessert

  4. bonfire as in at night?

well most places don't get dark till after 8pm so most ppl would have eaten before the party... unless you start the party pre sunset...

    just do bbq food.

    chips, dips.

    cheese pepperoni crackers

    pasta salad

    potato salad

    burgers

    dogs

    chicken

    sausage

you can keep the cool things in a bowl kept over ice held in those buffet tin trays

keep the food in the garage so you don't have a million ppl in and out letting bugs in your house lol

  5. Ohh keep going...

  6. do a german potatoe salad, no mayo worry. ribs, chicken, roasted clams,oh yea dont forget the beer. happy b day.
