I am currently about 2 months out from my discharge from the U.S. Army and I've utilized all the military programs to tweak my resume and enhance my knowledge in regards to interviews. I've met with employers and asked about different job markets.

Most of my experience prior to the military was in the information technology field and it is a field I enjoy working in. I've been applying to jobs with online sites such as career builder. I've also searched for multiple staffing agencies and particular information technology staffing agencies with little response in the past 2-3 weeks. From what my Case Manager at ACAP said I have a solid resume with a lot of diverse experience which should allow me to get a job fairly easy compared to other soldiers on their way out the door with nothing on their resume.

Just curious for those of you in the Information Technology Management or Business Systems Analyst fields what you look for in a new applicant or particularly a resume before you toss it aside and move on to the next. Are the certain things I should be emphasizing rather than others?

I appreciate your time and thoughts. And if anyone knows of companies with openings in their IT/BSA staff feel free to e-mail me lifedefieslogic6 at yahoo dot com
