How do you start having a realistic yet positive outlook on life? How do you learn to see the whole picture in a situation not be blinded by your own biases?

I have a tendency to be very suspicious of people for personal reasons I don't wish to share. I don't want to end up paranoid. Anyhow, I want to have a positive yet realistic assessment of myself physically. I personally find myself beautiful and I'm aware I'm not exactly the type of girl that attracts flocks of guys. Does that mean I'm insecure? it's true. I'm afraid I'll end of being one of those super-unattractive people with a huge ego. I don't think I'm ugly.

  1. I am a very suspicious person about others as well and I like spending time alone but I wish i was more social. If you are not wanting to end up paranoid you already have taken the first step to preventing that by realizing that you have a problem w/ that so you know to work on it. Try spending time w/ people you love and doing things for others. I always feel better when I go visit my g-ma and take her places. I know how you feel and I have a hard time opening up to people but I have really tried to work on focusing on the positive things that surround me. I think you are smart but you need to just relax more and your life will seem a lot better. (I have to tell myself to relax too)
