Having a shot to numb your tooth(teeth)?

Hi I need to have 2 teeth pulled and I am really scared of that shot they give you to numb your mouth.I have 1 thing cleared that pulling the tooth while numbed doesn't hurt at all.But there are many answers on the question if the shot hurts.So does the numbing gel really guarantee a painless injection.And on the scale of -1 and 5 compared with having a shot in the arm (which I really like having) where 0 is exactly the same and -1 it doesn't hurt at all and 5 hurts like h**l etc. please don't lie to me ,I want the truth.Thanks in advance.

I personally would prefer a shot in the mouth over a shot in the arm. It will probably pinch a little when the needle goes in (even with the numbing gel), but it quickly goes away. After all, they are injecting you with a numbing solution!

If you really hate pain, I might rate the pain a 2.

Well I Love Shots <i kno wierd> BUt When I Was Like 7 I Had To Get A ToothED Pulled They Numbed Me Wit The Shot. To Me It Wasnt That Bad It All Depends On How You Can Tolerate Pain

I Was 7 And I Could Take It So I Think You Can Too

Pain About A 3. The Shot Iz Really Fast And Only Hurts For About 30seconds

i had my tooth pulled last week and it wasnt that bad to be honest, and im a complete wuss!!!

Also im 13 if that helps :)

The needle barely hurts as long as you concentrate on something else, ask if you can listen to music on your ipod or mp3 or radio if you can.

On a scale of 1-5 i would say about a 2, its not exactly painful, more uncomfy.

If you stick a sewing needle in your palm that hurt more i think.

Dont worry about it, it will only take about 15 mins :)

The shot in your gum doesnt really hurt it is more like a pressure feeling  in my experiance.

where as a shot in your arm has a stinging sensation.

I just got the shot today and last Friday and it did hurt me. First they put the swab on and then did it but it did pinch a little. Today i got laughing gas and it helped a little.

Novocaine = 3/5 0- being doesn't hurt at all 5 being it hurts

Shot in arm= 4/5

Don't worry just close your eyes and you'll be fine. I asked this question yesterday but today i was a little bit better while getting the shot
