Question:

Having a show at 35 1/2 weeks?

Hi all,

I'm 351/2 weeks and had a show this morning. I was induced with my first, so was wondering if I should expect labour soon? We've just been in London doing the tourist thing for a couple of nights and we did loads of walking, would that cause the show to arrive early?

I'd like to hear how long went between the show arriving and labour for everyone - particularly second time round. Mainly, I just want to hear that I won't go overdue again as the 2 week extra wait first time was horrible!

NB: it wasn't blood-streaked - everything i'v read said to only contact my midwife prior to 36 weeks if i have a bloody show.

Thanks in advance.

  1. if there was no blood are you sure its your show maybe it could be excess discharge from all the activities, when i had my show with both kids i went into labour the same day the show was pinkish and came away in clumps. if it is your show then i don't think you will go over due atal in fact i would say you ll have baby really soon good luck x

  2. I only have one child, but when I had bloody show, it happened about 2 or 3 days before I went into labor.

  3. i was having little bits of show for  2 & a half weeks on my second child. if it wasn't bloody & your not having any pains then you can rest easy that your not in labour

  4. yeah i had this too im 36 weeks and it wasn't blood streaked unfortunately it doesn't mean anything we could both still have weeks to go.

  5. With my first, I had a show a week before labour. With my 2nd I didn't have a show at all.

    Good Luck!

  6. With my daughter - I had show about 2 weeks before I had her (3 days overdue - no biggie)

It could be your mucous plug too..........I'd call the doc/midwife and go from there - patience!! The longer the babe is in there - the better!!

  7. hiya
