my brother has been married for the last 7 years and together with his wife for 9 years. They already have 2 kids and are thinking of having another but also thinking about adoption.

They have said they would love to adopt but it takes for ever and a ton of money to adopt. are they just looking in the wrong places or is it really that hard to adopt?

  1. the best thing they could do is adopt from foster care... Some of those kids are wonderful kids and just need love. I dose cost money but not a ton. Foster care is a good place to start looking... Kids are shipped from house to house their whole like then kicked out at 18 with no one in the world.

  2. If they adopt from foster care, it does not cost that much money.  There are many kids that need a home and family and foster kids are all ages, genders, races, etc.  They are good kids who need a new chance at life.

Tell them to contact social services or the department of children and families in their state to find out more information.

  3. If they can have their own kids then why not have more of their own. If they really want to adopt, go thought foster care. It is cheap, if not free and they will be helping the kid have a better life.

  4. Your  adoption reason does not sound

reasonable.  In India  even the richest

people have one or two kids. It is not

practical  and possible to give  personal

attention to kids if they are more.

Western countries  they do have biological

children as well as  adopted one.Their mind set

is not like our Indian parents. They manage the

adopted  kids and their own  without discrimination.

Among  Indians, parents often ill treat the adopted

child or the child get neglected and  fall for bad

    company, and  become a delinquent.

  5. They could try adopting through foster care.  It does take a long time, but the child stays with you for that period of time and it doesn't cost as much.

Furthermore, I really think adoption is a more ethical choice.  There are so many children out there.  The world is grossly overpopulated as it is.  To have more than two kids (replacing yourselves) is making the problem worse.   As we stand, our population has already surpassed the earth's ability to naturally sustain us.  People die of starvation every second.  To bring in another mouth, when there are already plenty out there, would be contributing to a major problem that we will be feeling the effects of sooner than you would think.

  6. It all depends on the country they live in and which country they're trying to adopt from.

I would suggest them to visit a local adoption agency just to get a bit more info before getting into it.

P.S. I think it's great that they are considering adoption. Good luck to them! :)

  7. If they adopt through foster care it doesn't take any money because you get the money back for the paperwork later on and in most states you get an allowance for each child you adopt once a month depending on their needs and they (child) will always have medical through the state and extra benefits for college, child care and schooling (depending on your state).  I would look into foster care if it's a money issue.

  8. Based on my personal experiences, you would have to consider all options. Adoption is a pretty tough process--once you've found a good network it may take up to two years to actually adopt your child, so going for an unborn/infant child is usually best as he will be older when he is brought home. Having another of their own will also be easier if their kids are already, say, above eight years old. It might be hard for them to adjust to having a new sibling not from their parents, but then again they might not even notice. You will have to make sure the child will feel comfortable in his new neighborhood/community too! All in all, I think both options are great, you just have to focus on what you really want!
