Having confusion with this 'question', help please. Angela's Ashes book report: confusion.?

I was assigned a book report and one of the questions we had to answer was this.

Discuss the novel’s strengths and weaknesses supporting your answer with evidence from the novel.

What I don't understand is strengths and weaknesses. Could someone give me a clearer explanation, it seems a bit vague. Any examples from the book would really help. thanks in advance!

Well, I can't give examples from the book because I would kinda be doing your homework, but I can try to explain to you what it means.

From what I know, the question is asking about the author's writing style. For example, is the plot clear? How are the characters portrayed? And does it flow well?

So those are some key things you can look at when look at how well the author does with that.
