  1. It really depends on how your tooth is positioned. usually if your tooth is positioned in an upright position than your dentist can pull it with out complications, but if it is comming out twards the other tooth he will have to section it and try to pull it in two pieces. I have seen it done hundreds of times and believe me if it is too difficult your dentist will refer you to a specialist who can get it out easily. Just remember to follow the home care directions .No drinking from a straw ,No carbonated drinks , and No SMOKING for the rest of the day...

  2. ops! Blood keep on coming out and I hated the dentist much bcos he always check my mouth - that was so painful!

  3. It's not that bad. If you are having a General Anasthaetic you won't know anything about it. If you are having a local, it won't be painful while they are doing it, just an unpleasant sensation. (I've had 1 by LA & 3 by GA) The worst thing is the taste of blood in your mouth and not being able to eat "difficult" things like toast or steak! Rinse your mouth out with salt water after every meal to make sure you don't get an infection.

Your jaw will be tender but you can take painkillers for a few days.

Good Luck and just think, this time next week it will all be over!

  4. Bloody painful, but necessary.

  5. I have to say that it really wasn't that bad.  I went to my local health food/herbal shop and got some arnica tablets which I took for a few days before and after, and I had virtually no swelling or bruising. Also arnica doesn't affect any other medication which you may be prescribed.  Definitely worth a try!  :)

  6. had a general anaesthetic so the pain was ok.  it took about 10 days before I could eat regular food but it wasn't too bad having milkshakes, soup and mashed potato.  I'd had loads of infections from impacted wisdom teeth so having them out put an end to that which was great

  7. I had seven teeth out in the one day, 2 of them wisdom teeth. I was extremely nervous and worried, could hardly eat for a week worrying. I was sedated so I didn't really know very much about it but I do remember feeling my jaw being stitched, no pain just the feeling of the thread being pulled through. Was fine afterwards, stocked up on painkillers and didnt let it get sore at all. Was able to eat almost normally as well, fairly soft food though and be careful where you chew it. I have to say the worst part about it was sitting in the waiting room to go in and get it done. Good luck, you will be fine.

  8. had mine under general anesthetic sorry! one of mine was growing on a 45 degree angle so it needed surgery.

you feel like **** and can't eat properly for about a week so stock up on soups and ice cream and ice blocks basically anything a baby could eat but in adult form.

  9. my gymnatics coach had them removed couldnnt attend work for like 2 days they hurt when she came bck her cheeck was like yellow n looked brused it was form the wisdom teeth

      good luck

    - tip: think of somethign far far away like a plane or good memories when you go through the procedure.

  10. They gave me Novocaine and nitrous, procedure was not a big deal. Recovery can be an ordeal though depends on how badly they were impacted.

I was pretty sore for the first 3 days. After that it wasn't too bad. First 3 days it was soups and baby food. By the way baby food tastes pretty good too. Biggest thing to watch out for is you can't drink from a straw or smoke for the first 48 hours or so.

Your dentist will provide you with plenty of information on post operative care. All and all once the worst is over you'll be glad you had it done.

  11. I had that feeling, but I was asked to count to 10 backwards and before I could even think about the number 7 was awake and happy without that dreadfully painful wisdom tooth.  All that worry was for nothing.  Well done that dentist team and their expertise, in fact I have put their address for you below.  Hope they don't mind.
