Having my own business ?

Question

I am a Freshman in college and i am at a loss for what i want to do with my life.

My mom does not like this idea but i think it would be sucessful.

I want to get a degree in Business Management and open my own Auto Detail Business and maybe get my dealers liscense and have a car lot also.

I need some suggestions please.

I think anything you are passionate about is not only a good idea but a GREAT one!  I own a detail business outside of Chicago and I make a very good living. I try to learn something new everyday and make sure I make at least one good contact everyday to expand my business.  I have a mobile unit that I enjoy because I have no overhead so it keeps my costs down.  People seem to love the convenience too!  I also started using a product that will revolutionize the car wash/detail business, this may be a way to get you started for cheap while making huge returns and alot of great contacts!  Good luck and check out the sites below.  Feel free to contact me with any questions.

hey its a great idea if ur good at that stuff, but u need a alot of money to start your own business and if it doesnt make it u might lose alot of money, however if u believe u can do it and be successful then go for it!!! and ur mom shud be supportive of you if thats what you really feel passionate about doing right?

Some suggestions/questions/comments:

* visit the Small Business Administration website.

* develop a business plan

* what is the competition?

* how much are people willing to pay?

* how much do you need to get the business off the ground?

* what are you going to live on until the business can pay you a salary?

* how much time does it take to do each detail job?

You need to do a great deal of thorough research, and have your plan very well worked out - the alternative is not pretty.  Life is hard work, school (including college) is easy.

Do what you want I eventually plan on opening some night clubs and some gentlemens clubs thes auto detailing under females hoods too!
