my fiance just bought a Taurus 357 something or other (looks like a dirty harry gun!). anywho, its a revolver and i cannot for the life of me pull the trigger without cocking the hammer first. i want to be able to shoot it without having to do that first.

whats the best way to do this. i want to be safe and not hurt myself while trying to do this. i have no problem with things like glocks, they're easy

  1. Is it supose to be single action.  Look up the model on the net and if it is single action that is how it is made.  If you look it up and it is double action then you should be able to do as you said you like.

  2. Hold the gun with both hands. I work on doing grippers to build up the strength in your hands.

  3. The Taurus .357, 5 shot, stainless, with a 2" barrel is a piece of $#!+. I bought one for my wife, and it jams often, feels like it doesn't cycle the cylinder, and is just not good for a self protection firearm, even if it is a revolver.

It's no wonder you can't pull the trigger, because I own firearms, am an avid shooter, even in GSSF with my Glocks, and swear that Taurus (I forget the model #) was a waste of $$$!

It sometimes ONLY fires in single action (manually cocking the hammer back) mode, and not double action.

You get what you pay for...and as for "finger excercises", I have suggestions, but don't want a "violation notice" ;)

    Hahahahaha!

  4. Its a double action revolver and it takes a bit of muscle to **** the guy using the revolver.

Just shooting it and working on your finger pull I guess. you might be able to get a gunsmith to lighten it up a bit and make the action easier.

  5. Maybe it's not to be fired without cocking the hammer.

  6. its a physically limitation... if you are too weak to pull a trigger on a revolver

my answer would be to work out? lol,

  7. you have to point it away from someones face first

  8. 357s are usually dual action.  They are much harder to trigger.  You might use some gun oil on the mechanism.  However, it is going to be tougher than a Glock.
