Having problems uploading photos from digital camera??

Question

i have a Pentax Optio S5i but my sister didnt give me a cd for the software. so then i just downloaded a software from the pentax website and i tried uploading my pictures...but nothing happens! i checked on My Computer and there was nothing that can get me to upload the pictures

wat do i do???

Your comp may have a built in card reader. If so, stick the memory card in and upload your pics.

If not, buy a card reader. They're cheap.

Another thing you can try, look for device manager ( in control panel) on your comp, open it.  Plug your cam in and turn it on.

It should show up somewhere on the list, imaging devices, portable devices....Highlight the icon and right click, then click on "update driver software".

In My Computer, you should check all the folders of the camera. If not, you can run to the nearest WalGreens, or Walmart and give them your memory card to save to a cd. Then you can put the cd and take your pictures from it.

If you have a USB port on the front of your computer, try buying a card reader for the card you have in your camera (in your case get an SD card reader) pop it into the USB port and it should open up a window saying "how would you like to open this file?"

You can choose to view the pictures, and so forth, but you can also tell it top open the folder with the files, it will open up then you can just move them from the card to your picture folder in a snap.

The other cool thing is that the card reader then makes your card like a flash drive whatever size card you have so if you have a 2GB memory card you now have a 2GB flash card in a way.  I used mine to transfer music to another computer so I could burn a cd :)

They aren't that expensive either, Walmart sells an SD card reader for like 8$
