I recently installed 2 Hifonics Brutus 1200 watts subs (square ones) in my car. I have them wired at 1 ohm to my Crunch 1500.1 amplifier. I also have another off brand 100 watt amplifier running my 6x9s. After installing the system i went to tune it and when the levels of bass are turned up the amp will go into protect. I turned down the levels and drove around for a little to listen and see if i could hear any problems. The bass k**b instead of staying green, everytime the bass hits hard it will half-flash red. Also after about 10 minutes of running the amp it was really hot to touch. I have an alpine head unit if that helps. The subs and amplifier are brand new so i dont know what the problem is. I'm pretty sure everything is wired correctly and yes the amp is 1 ohm stable. If u have any other questions just add them to ur answer.

  1. I would add a capacitor on it if you don't already have one. Might be that it's not drawing enough amperage from the battery for the peaks. Also make sure you've got good connections and a big enough wire to the battery.
