  1. Well there could be multiple things that could be causing your issue.

    - Could be SpyWare, Virus, Maleware, etc

    - If you are connected directly to a modem, try restarting the modem instead of the computer. after a few minutes you may get your internet back. If that works, and it keeps doing this, contact your ISP and have them replace your modem, or service it.

    - If you are connecting through a router, try restarting the router. Wait a couple minutes and see if this helps.

    - If you are connecting wirelessly. Go into your control panel, and then network connections. Within Network Connections right click on Wireless Area Connection hit disable. Wait for it to disable, then renable. (this is in XP/Vista)

  2. Check your modem or ethernet cable.  I had the same problem and it was because my modem was outta date.  Also sometimes if the cable gets damaged then it can cause connection issues.

  3. Could be your Modem or Ethernet card. I had a bad Ethernet card that knocked my wireless modem out every time I plugged in the Ethernet cable. I know it was the Ethernet card because every thing worked fine when I plugged the cable in to another card in a different computer. I've had Modems do things like that too. Pretty strange
