This question is really boggling my mind. I have no idea how to solve it:
14. The population of rabbits in a particular area in Ontario is a periodic function due to prey-predator relationships. The population can be modelled by the function p(t) - 500 cos 0.2Àt + 750, where P is the rabbit population and t is the time in years.
(a) What is the period of this function and what does it mean in the context of this problem?
(b) What are the minimum and maximum rabbit populations?
Could someone please help me solve this? So far I am unable to find not just the rabbit populations, but even what the period is. I know the context of the period is the cycles by which rabbits live and die or something like that, but everything else is just a blur.
