  1. By most accounts, we are already living in a post-industrial society. It looks like the world around you, presuming you live in the United States. The production of goods has been surpassed by the provision of services in the economy; manual work and the assembly line have declined in prominence to be replaced by higher enrollment in professional and technical work; the greatest advancements are seen in innovation in theoretical knowledge.
